Meet the Teacher
Hi! My name is Katie Burritt and I teach first grade at Plymouth River School. This will be my 16th year teaching grade 1 at PRS. I feel so lucky to be a teacher in such a special community because I know that it truly is the best job in the world!
I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Boston University and a master's degree in Elementary Education from Simmons College. I continue to take courses in education and technology each year because I love to learn as much as I love to teach.
I was born and raised in Fairfield, CT. I am the middle child in my family. My parents retired to Martha's Vineyard a few years ago, which is a really nice place to go "home" to visit! After many years of living right outside the city of Boston, my husband and I have started to set our roots in the South Shore.
My proudest accomplishment is without a doubt my children. I have a six year old son named Logan (who starts FIRST GRADE this year!) and a four year old daughter named Riley. They both bring more joy and happiness to our lives than we ever knew was possible.
I am SO excited to get to know all of my new students this year. I know that it is going to be a fabulous year!
